GEOFORT ESCAPE 1.0: THE DAY WE EXPERIENCED NIGERIA DIFFERENTLY

One bus. One city. Different people. One unforgettable day.

On October 1, 2026, while Nigeria celebrated Independence Day, a group of people gathered in Lagos, packed their bags, boarded a 27-seater Coaster and set out for Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The mission was simple:

Explore. Connect. Learn. Have fun. Create memories.

And just like that, GEOFORT ESCAPE 1.0 began.

But GEOFORT Escape was never just a road trip.

Geofort works across land surveying, real estate and property advisory — areas fundamentally connected to one thing:

place.

We help people understand land, locations and property opportunities so they can make more informed decisions.

So we asked ourselves:

What if people could experience a place before being asked to invest in it?

That question became GEOFORT Escape — an experience designed to bring travel, culture, learning, connection, leisure and real estate together.

And for our first escape, we chose a city with plenty to discover.

WHY ABEOKUTA?

For GEOFORT Escape 1.0, we chose Abeokuta — the Gateway City.

A city rich in history, culture, commerce and development, Abeokuta offered more than a destination.

It offered a place to experience Nigeria from different perspectives.

From the heritage of the Egba people to its food, landmarks, institutions, businesses and growing real estate opportunities, Abeokuta brings together the past, present and possibilities of a place still evolving.

We didn’t just want our guests to hear about Abeokuta.

We wanted them to experience it.

And the experience started on the road.

THE ROAD TO ABEOKUTA

As participants gathered at pickup points across Lagos, boarded the bus and began the journey, conversations started, pictures were taken and laughter filled the bus.

People who had never met before began getting familiar with one another.

The journey itself became part of the escape.

Then, after hours on the road, Abeokuta came into view.

And we knew:

The escape had officially begun.

WELCOME TO THE GATEWAY CITY

Our first stop was the iconic Gateway City Gate.

For many people travelling into Abeokuta, it is one of the first landmarks that announces your arrival.

For us, it was the perfect introduction to the city.

The cameras came out.

People took pictures.

The group gathered.

And just like that, our escapees had their first proper Abeokuta moment.

It wasn’t just a stop for pictures.

It was the beginning of experiencing the city we had come to explore.

From the Gateway City Gate, we headed to PRASINO Lush, one of Geofort’s developments in Abeokuta.

This was an important part of the experience.

If we believe people should understand a place before making property decisions, then we should be willing to show them the places we talk about.

Participants had the opportunity to see the development, experience the environment and ask questions.

Because a picture can introduce a property, but being there gives you perspective.

You can see a location on a map.

You can look at pictures online.

You can read a description.

But standing on the land and experiencing the surrounding environment gives you a different understanding.

See the place. Understand the opportunity. Then make your decision.

That is where surveying, location intelligence, real estate and advisory come together.

And with the site visit complete, it was time for another essential part of the Nigerian experience.

FOOD, GIST & THE TASTE OF ABEOKUTA

What is a Nigerian road trip without food?

We headed to a local restaurant for a proper Nigerian meal — Amala, Gbegiri and Ogbúfẹ́, straight from the fire. But what made the moment memorable wasn’t just what was on the plate.

It was the gist.

The laughter.

The conversations.

The shared experience.

People who had spent the morning getting to know one another were now sitting around the same table, eating, talking and enjoying the moment.

Sometimes, food is just food.

And sometimes, food becomes part of the memory.

For GEOFORT Escape, it was both.

STEPPING INTO HISTORY AT OOPL

From the restaurant, we headed to one of the day’s major experiences:

The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and Museum (OOPL).

Here, participants encountered artefacts, photographs and stories connected to Nigeria’s political and social history.

The visit offered another perspective on the country we were celebrating that day.

Because Independence Day isn’t only about celebrating where Nigeria is today.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve come from.

And that made OOPL particularly fitting for the occasion.

The experience was a reminder that learning doesn’t always happen in a classroom.

Sometimes, you learn by travelling.

By seeing.

By asking questions.

By experiencing.

AND THEN, WE HAD FUN

Of course, GEOFORT Escape wasn’t a history class.

There was plenty of room to relax, explore and simply enjoy the day.

Participants could take part in optional OOPL activities including boat rides, Paint & Sip, rollercoaster rides, outdoor games and more, depending on their preferences and available options.

Some explored.

Some took pictures.

Some tried something new.

Others simply enjoyed the atmosphere.

And that was intentional.

There was no single way to experience the escape.

Everyone was free to create their own version of the day.

THE PEOPLE MADE THE ESCAPE

If there was one thing that truly made GEOFORT Escape special, it wasn’t the itinerary.

It was the people. Participants came from different backgrounds.

Some came alone. Some came with friends or family.

Some didn’t know anyone before the trip.

By the end of the day, there were new conversations, new contacts, shared pictures, inside jokes and memories. And that matters to us.

Because real estate may involve land and property, but at its heart, it is about people.

People building homes.

People starting businesses.

People creating communities.

People investing in their futures.

That is why, for Geofort, real estate goes beyond transactions.

It is about people, places and the lives being built around them.

BUT DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

We can tell you the experience was memorable.

But the people who were actually there can tell the story better.

WHAT OUR ESCAPEES SAID

“Yes , I enjoyed myself…I don’t have a favourite part, I enjoyed the whole experience. In summary Geofort Escape for me was Edutainment”
— Jamiu seidu, GEOFORT Escape 1.0 Participant

“Words are not enough to express how much we enjoyed ourselves & this is not just some QA, the experience was lit. The museum was definitely a fav & the CEO of Geofort is someone to reconnect with. He’s so down to earth, so cultured and super real. I got to meet great people and some people I’ll definitely be working with. The best part is Prasino Lush Estate! I’m definitely getting my hands on 1 of those”
— Odosa Ogiemwonyi (pinky), GEOFORT Escape 1.0 Participant

“Yes, thoroughly a great outing. The road trip, seeing beautiful places, the OBJ library tour and the real estate opportunity. In summary, Geofort Escape was lit.— Franca Duke, GEOFORT Escape 1.0 Participant

Their voices matter because GEOFORT Escape isn’t something we want to define only from our own perspective.

They experienced it. They lived it. They get to tell us what it meant to them.

EVERY ESCAPE TEACHES YOU SOMETHING

The Escape was our first edition.

And first editions teach you things that planning meetings cannot.

There were moving parts.

There were delays.

There were moments we could have handled better.

Our participants told us.

We listened.

We took notes.

And we’ll use those lessons to make the next experience better.

Because improvement isn’t about pretending everything went perfectly.

It is about listening, learning and doing better.

And that is exactly what we intend to do.

THE ROAD HOME

By 5:00 PM, it was time to leave Abeokuta.

The bus headed back towards Lagos.

Some slept.

Some talked.

Some went through their pictures.

Some were already posting.

But everyone was carrying something home.

Maybe it was a new connection.

Maybe it was a new appreciation for Nigerian history.

Maybe it was a different perspective on Abeokuta.

Maybe it was simply a really good story to tell.

Whatever it was, the experience belonged to them.

Because we planned the trip.

They made the memories.

DID WE TRULY ESCAPE?

That became our question after the trip.

DID WE TRULY ESCAPE?

If escape means stepping away from routine, discovering somewhere differently, meeting new people, learning something unexpected and returning with memories worth keeping…

Then yes.

We escaped.

Together.

MORE THAN A TRIP

The frst edition showed us something worth building.

A way to connect people with places.

A way to explore Nigeria beyond the obvious.

A platform for community.

And a way to bring Geofort’s philosophy of informed real estate decisions to life.

Because we are not simply interested in helping people buy property.

We want people to understand what they are buying.

We believe that understanding starts with asking questions.

Seeing the location.

Understanding the land.

Understanding the environment.

And understanding the opportunity.

That is the thinking behind Geofort.

And that is why this experience belongs to our story.

AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

The destination may change.

The experience may evolve.

But the idea remains:

Explore. Connect. Create Memories.

To everyone who boarded the bus, shared a meal, started a conversation, laughed, took a picture, gave feedback or trusted us with their Independence Day — thank you for becoming part of the story.

The Experience wasn’t just an event.

It was the beginning of something we’re excited to keep building.

GEOFORT ESCAPE 1.0 — WE ESCAPED.

We explored. We connected. We created memories.
